On this page, you can download the drivers for Sony Vaio UX computers running Windows Vista.
Windows Vista is a less popular operating system to use on the VAIO UX. Even though a lot of newer models shipped with Vista Business out of the box, it ran very slow compared to XP. Therefore, a lot of users wanted to downgrade their VAIO back to XP. Upgrading is, while obviously not popular back in the day, also possible: most XP models can be upgraded, provided they have enough RAM and free disk space.
For Windows Vista, back in the day, Sony offered individual driver files on their website. These are no longer available, but have been archived since.
In contrast to Windows XP and Windows 7, no community-built driver packs were created. This was probably due to the fact that almost nobody wanted to upgrade a Vaio computer that shipped with Windows XP to Windows Vista, and maybe also because a lot of computers already shipped with Windows Vista from the factory and thus did not need any drivers to be installed.
To help you get the drivers installed, I have created a Vista driver pack myself, based on the drivers still online at https://drivers.eu. It contains most of the drivers and applications, but not as many as in the Windows XP driver packs. The Vista pack should give you a decent experience when not installing Vista from a recovery disk or the built-in recovery partition.
For the best experience, you may consider using a Recovery Disk or the Recovery Partition instead.
