On this page, you can download the drivers and utilities for Sony VAIO UX computers running Windows 7.
Windows 7 was not installed by default on any VAIO UX computer, but most computers could be updated if you had 1GB RAM and enough free disk space. After the debacle with Vista, many users were eager to upgrade their VAIO from XP to 7 and it could actually perform quite well.
Windows 7 offers the optimal combination of an operating system that performs well on the VAIO UX, and is at least somewhat modern that you can install some newer programs on it. If starting fresh, this is an ideal choice to install.
For Windows 7, Sony released a combination of Vista drivers and some updated official drivers back in the day. These are unfortunately no longer available on their website, but have been archived since.
Since many people did upgrade their computer to Windows 7 back in the day, the community created a handy driver pack to install all drivers on a clean installation of Windows 7. Similar to the XP driver packs, this was developed by forum user Sull86 of micropctalk.com (a site which is also no longer online), and is very complete in terms of included drivers & applications.
This driver pack has been brought back online for download using a copy from the Internet Archive.
