Hi I’m running a Vaio VGN-UX380CN, and I’ve gotten everything I want to work on it. Except the camera utility (not the camera capture utility) won’t work. It’s running windows vista using the driver pack provided here. I tried 380N recovery disks but those always fail, and I’ve used as many other drivers as I can find.
All I really want to do is just to get the back camera to work. I know a lot of other people have had this issue but I know now it’s because of the camera utility not running, for me anyways. If it helps to know, the camera utility never seems to run on its own and anytime I try to launch it I get an unknown error has occurred message. Thanks for any help you can provide, I seriously don’t know where else to look!

Hi Luciano,

I searched for this error online (“failed to apply customer image”) and you may have gotten yourself a bad copy of the second recovery disk.
Can you confirm that the error appears when you have already switched to the second disk?

Hi, i have an sony ux380fn, when i use the recovery disks to restore the complete system give me an error, “Failed to create customer image”. I accidentaly remove the recovery partiton :(… any solution?
I love this pc and realy like me to restore ir to factory conditions :(.

Hi Arjan, great site and saved me as the downloads are no longer available from Sony.
I managed to get almost everything working with exception to the rear camera (as per the above post by Alejandro). Is there somethign specifically to do to be able to switch to the rear camera.

The Vista pack worked great but i still needed to install some of the XP drivers first in some instances – maybe need a running order ?
I’m running Windows Vista Business SP2 on a VGN UX91NS imported from Japan

I’m really liking the machine and it’s not running bad to say we are in Mar 2021 🙂

In reply to Alejandro. Hello, I have problems with the camera, only the front one is visible, and the rear camera is not visible, I have a Sony vaio Vgn-ux480fn with Windows XP, reinstalled the drivers but the same problem remains .... I hope you could help me. . regards.

Thanks for that, just got myself an UX90S from Japan and while I could sort all the drivers after reinstalling an English version of XP this package of XP stuff gave me the missing utilities that are really necessary to get the cameras and shortcut buttons working 🙂
